📅 September 21 · International Awareness Day
Each year on September 21, the international day of peace calls on schools worldwide to explore conflict resolution, empathy, and the transformative power of dialogue. Class2Class connects students across borders through hands-on projects that build a genuine culture of peace.
The international day of peace was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981 and dedicated entirely to peace in 2001. Observed every September 21, it aligns with SDG 16 — Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions — reminding educators everywhere that sustainable peace begins in the classroom. When students explore conflict resolution, global citizenship, and intercultural dialogue, they become active peace-builders in their own communities.
Class2Class projects turn this annual commemoration into a living learning experience. Students collaborate across borders to create shared art, engage in structured peace dialogues, and explore what peace means in different cultural contexts — developing the empathy and communication skills at the heart of project based learning and global citizenship education.
