Welcome to Class2Class.org, a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) platform designed to foster global education, collaboration, education for sustainable development, and cultural exchange between teachers and students worldwide. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

1.1. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Class2Class.org platform, including all related tools, features, and services provided.

1.2. By registering as a user, you affirm that you have read, understand, and agree to these Terms and Conditions, including any future modifications.

2. Users and Eligibility

2.1. The Class2Class.org platform is committed to protecting the privacy and safety of all its users, particularly children, in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other global regulations.

2.2. The platform is designed exclusively for use by educators, principals or staff working with students in educational programs and settings, as well as students, hereinafter referred to as Users.

2.3. Students must be at least 13 years old to register on the Class2Class.org platform. The platform does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register as users. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

2.4. Teachers and guardians are responsible for verifying the age of students who are being registered on the platform. It is imperative that they ensure compliance with this age requirement to maintain the integrity and safety of the educational environment provided by Class2Class.org.

2.5. Any accounts found to have been created by students under the age of 13 will be immediately deactivated, and all associated data will be removed from our platform, in accordance with privacy laws and regulations.

3. Account Use 

3.1. Your account is personal and unique. This means you must take care of your password and ensure that no one else uses your account. If you suspect that someone else has accessed your account, contact us immediately at [email protected]

3.2. Your account is for educational use. We want Class2Class.org to be a safe and respectful space, so we expect all users to behave appropriately. This includes not sharing inappropriate content and respecting everyone on the platform

3.3. We do our best to protect your account and the information you give us. However, it is also important that you do your part by choosing secure passwords and not sharing them with others.

4. Intellectual Property Rights and User Content

4.1. Users must respect intellectual property rights when sharing content on the platform. The responsibility for ensuring that content does not infringe on copyright rests with the user who shares it.

4.2. Class2Class.org is not liable for copyright infringements committed by users. Users agree to indemnify Class2Class.org against any claims arising from such infringements.

4.3. By publishing educational material on the Class2Class.org platform, Users grant permission to make such content publicly accessible, allowing other educators to use it for educational, but not commercial, purposes.

5. Content and User Conduct

5.1. The User commits to using the Class2Class.org platform responsibly and solely for educational purposes. The publication of inappropriate, offensive content, or content that infringes on the rights of third parties is not allowed. We reserve the right to remove such content and suspend or cancel the accounts that violate these norms. Below, we detail our expectations regarding content and conduct on the platform:

  • Responsible use for educational purposes. The platform is designed to enrich the educational process. We expect its use to always align with learning objectives, fostering an environment of respect and collaboration.
  • Prohibition of inappropriate content. The publication of material that may be considered offensive, harmful, or inappropriate is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, violent, sexual, discriminatory content, or in any way that may cause discomfort or harm to other users.
  • Respect for the rights of third parties. All shared content must respect copyright and intellectual property rights. This means avoiding sharing copyrighted material without authorization or not following fair use norms.
  • Actions in case of violations. If content that violates these norms is detected, we reserve the right to take action, which may include removing the offensive content and, in serious or repeated cases, suspending or canceling the responsible user’s account.
  • Reporting infringements. We encourage all users to report any activity or content they consider inappropriate or harmful to [email protected]. Class2Class.org is committed to reviewing these reports diligently and taking the corresponding measures to maintain the integrity of our educational community.

5.2. It is our priority to ensure that Class2Class.org remains a safe, inclusive, and conducive space for learning and teaching. Therefore, in this link, you will find more details about the policies for the teaching community. We thank all users for adhering to these guidelines and contributing to our positive educational environment.

5.3. By using Class2Class.org, teachers grant the platform consent to share the results of their projects, which may include documents, images, recordings, among other files, with the broader Class2Class.org community or for promotional purposes. This sharing is intended to showcase the collaborative efforts and achievements within the platform, fostering a community of shared learning and inspiration.

5.4. Despite the initial consent, teachers retain the right to request the removal of their project results or any shared content from the platform at any time. To request content removal, teachers must submit a written notice to [email protected] specifying the content in question. Class2Class.org will take reasonable steps to remove the specified content from the platform promptly, respecting the teacher’s rights and preferences.

6. Limitation of Liability

6.1. At Class2Class.org, we work hard to keep our educational platform as safe as possible. However, we cannot promise that it is free from all risks. By using Class2Class.org, teachers understand and accept that they do so at their own risk. Class2Class.org is not liable for any damages or losses that may arise from the use of our platform. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Damage to personal information. Possible security breaches that may compromise the personal information of users.
  • Loss of content. Loss of educational material or content uploaded by users due to technical failures or errors on the platform.
  • Unauthorized access. Unauthorized access to user accounts that may result in the alteration or deletion of information and content.
  • Misuse of the platform. Inappropriate use of the platform by other users that may result in a negative experience.
  • Damage to equipment. Possible damage to electronic devices or software due to downloading damaged files or malware from the platform.
  • Interference with educational activities. Interruptions or failures in the platform’s service that may affect the continuity and effectiveness of planned educational activities.
  • Collaboration issues among teachers. Class2Class.org is not responsible for any misunderstandings, conflicts, or damages arising from a teacher’s failure to effectively collaborate with other teachers. This includes, but is not limited to, not attending scheduled meetings or failing to fulfill agreed-upon collaboration efforts.

6.2. It is important to highlight that the Class2Class.org platform makes efforts to minimize these risks but cannot guarantee their complete elimination, and therefore, is not responsible for the consequences arising from these incidents. This does not exempt Class2Class.org from its obligation to implement appropriate security measures and to act diligently to protect its users.

6.3. Class2Class.org, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, or agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from the use of the platform.

7. Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

7.1. Our data processors include Bubble (Bubble.is), Xano (Xano.com), and Mixpanel (Mixpanel.com). By using Class2Class.org, you consent to the processing of data by these processors in accordance with our Data Processing Agreement.

7.2. We are committed to protecting your data and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

8. Changes to the Terms and Conditions

8.1. Class2Class.org reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms and Conditions at any time. When we make changes to the Terms, we will post the revised Terms on our platform and update the “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms.

8.2. We will provide users with a 14-day advance notice of any significant changes to these Terms and Conditions before they become effective. This notice will be delivered through the user’s registered email address or through a prominent notice on our platform.

8.3. During this 14-day period, users are encouraged to review the revised Terms to understand the changes. Continued use of the platform after the end of the 30-day notice period will constitute acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.

8.4. If a user disagrees with the changes to the Terms and Conditions, the user has the right to terminate their account within the 14-day notice period. Instructions on how to terminate the account will be provided in the notice of changes.

9. Jurisdiction

9.1. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Copenhagen, Denmark, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. Users agree that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to these Terms and Conditions shall be filed only in the state and federal courts located in Copenhagen, Denmark, and hereby consent and submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action.

9.2. In the event that any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from these Terms and Conditions and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. This is the entire agreement between the parties relating to the subject matter herein and shall not be modified except in writing, signed by both parties or by a new posting by Class2Class.org, as described above.
