Global Citizen: A global citizen, from the Class2Class perspective, is an empowered learner who collaboratively works across cultural boundaries to understand and address global challenges, particularly the UN Sustainable Development Goals, while developing core competencies in cross-cultural communication, digital collaboration, and problem-solving. They demonstrate emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to fostering positive change through international partnerships, all while maintaining awareness of personal, community, and global wellbeing.

Student-Centered Empowerment: We prioritize students’ voices and experiences, making them active contributors in shaping their own learning journeys.

 

Collaborative Online International Learning: COIL embodies our commitment to creating a connected, cross-cultural learning community. Through carefully designed international projects, students engage directly with peers from around the globe, experiencing firsthand the richness of diverse perspectives. Here are the Class2Class.org coexistence rules for a harmonious and smooth experience:

On the Learning Platform:

Always be respectful and polite in your posts, remember that everyone will read them.

It is important that you do not type in all caps, as this is interpreted as shouting. Don’t forget to use “please” and “thank you” where appropriate.

Interact with the community through the groups sharing your knowledge, opinions, messages, publications, etc.

Keep your texts brief and clear, and check for spelling before posting.

If you can, help with your classmate’s questions. This fosters an environment of mutual support.

Maintain a constructive and healthy dialogue in the debates.

Participating in Project & Virtual Meetings

Attend and be punctual in the meetings that your teacher schedules.

Join sessions with your name displayed and your camera on.

Be sure to keep your microphone muted when you’re not speaking to avoid distractions.

Treat all participants respectfully and kindly.

When using the video conferencing camera, make sure that what is in view is appropriate and that no private information is visible.

10 Policies for the Teaching Community:

1: Maintain respectful and professional communication with teachers and students at all times.

2. Do not share inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content through the different communication channels of the Class2Class.org community. Communication channels are defined as the C2C.org platform, WhatsApp group, Facebook group, or any other channel that C2C.org provides for user communication.

3. Respect the privacy and security of the personal information of Class2Class.org community members. This includes but is not limited to email addresses and WhatsApp numbers.

4. Stick to the commitments made in ongoing collaborative projects. Teachers who agree to collaborate on a project through Class2Class.org should honor their commitment to the project and actively work towards its completion including meeting deadlines, communicating effectively, and fulfilling collaboration responsibilities.

5. Abstain from any activity that violates the law or the rights that guarantee the integrity of community members. This includes but is not limited to, fundraising, selling products or services, and engaging in any discriminatory or harassing behavior.

6. Respect others’ boundaries and personal space: Teachers at Class2Class.org should keep their relationships professional. Avoid invasive actions like over-messaging, sharing private information, or pursuing inappropriate relationships. Always seek consent before starting communication or collaboration, and respect others’ privacy. Remember, Class2Class.org is solely for professional development and classroom collaboration.

7. Respect Intellectual Property Rights: Teachers should respect the intellectual property rights of others and should not use any copyrighted material without obtaining proper permission or giving proper credit.

8. Encourage Diversity and Inclusivity: Class2Class.org is committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity. Members of the community should respect differences in culture, language, religion, gender and other characteristics, and should work to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all involved.

9. Respect Time and Schedules: Teachers should respect each other’s time and schedules when communicating and collaborating on Class2Class.org. They should communicate clearly and in a timely manner and should avoid scheduling conflicts that may impact ongoing projects.

10. Moderation and Reporting: The Class2Class.org platform is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all its users. To maintain this environment, the platform will be moderated to ensure that its users adhere to the established policies and rules of conduct.
